Admitted to Hospital

For patients being admitted to HSC-Winnipeg Childrens Hospital, information on getting admitted, services available during the hospital stay, and what information is provided on discharge from hospital can be found here.

When to arrive

Patients being admitted to hospital will receive a letter containing the date and time to arrive at Patient Admitting (Level 1, Blue Goodbear zone).

Arranging accommodation or assistance

If you are travelling from First Nations Communities, contact Medical Services to assist with transportation arrangements.

Other accommodation options exist close to the Children’s Hospital.

Patients over 18

HSC-Winnipeg Childrens Hospital can admit patients up until their 18th birthday for medical and surgical treatment.  In certain circumstances, patients over 18 years of age may be admitted with special approval, which is limited to patients who are medically complex and requiring access to specialized care in Pediatrics.
