Music Therapy
The Music Therapy Program helps children and families cope through music. On the inpatient units, the music therapist provides services to infants, children, teens and their families by visiting them in their room. Some group experiences are provided in various areas. A choice of songs and instruments are offered to the patients to give opportunities to listen, sing and play to their favourite, familiar songs. Services aim to provide distraction, increase relaxation, decrease anxiety and to be hands on to facilitate appropriate developmental stimulation through music.
