Child Life Main Playroom
The Child Life Main Playroom is a service provided to help alleviate the stress and anxiety of hospitalization and to provide opportunities for optimum growth and development for inpatients of different developmental stages. We provide developmental support, and opportunities for play, distraction, socialization, self-expression, and medical play. The playroom is an inpatient program and our goal is to provide a supportive, safe and clean environment for inpatients. We adhere to strict infection control standards. The morning program is open to inpatients from the age of birth to 5 years old. The primary focus is to provide developmental support to long term infants and toddlers. The afternoon playroom is open to inpatients aged 6 to 17 years and the goal is to provide peer interaction and socialization for hospitalized school-age children and teens.
